Yes, I remember getting pulled out of class in 4th grade to watch this. I liked it a lot mainly because we got pulled out of class for 10 minutes. I don't think I knew a single person in the video, except for Whoopi Goldberg, who strangely doesn't seem to be in it at all.
I think there might have been more to it, like people telling you why you should recycle. Which is where Whoopi came into it maybe?
Yep that's the one I remember, but I don't remember this song at all. I wonder if my school just cut that part out. The same year one of the school's teachers thought it'd be cool to turn a Village People song into a recycling song (C.A.N.S instead of Y.M.C.A) and it kind of became our school's recycling theme song for school assemblies and whatnot. Didn't change any other lyrics either. Maybe they wanted to hide this part of the video from us because it actually qualifies as a song
I recall being environmentally conscious not being as politically charged back then as it is now. Back then even Charlie Daniels could get behind recycling. Nowadays I'm sure he'd describe recycling as commie, Hillary, hippy crap.
