Widespread drug use during the late 1960s/early 1970s?

A complete indifference to quality in children's programming, because one way or another the kids will watch on Saturday mornings.

I know the 80s take a fair amount of heat for turning cartoons into 30-minute commercials -- and it's a legitimate point -- but let's be clear, it didn't make the cartoons themselves any worse.

Doesn't surprise me really, "Kiss Meets the ___" was everywhere so let's insert the Aquabats into Jabberjaw, or make the Misfits WWE characters, shit like that. The Simpsons was probably the only animated universe where this shitty concept actually worked.
