Baboons are incredibly vicious little monsters too. The big ones must have been horrible. Imagine them howling at the moon at night like modern baboons do, too.

When I was a kid, I had a book about large post-dinosaur animals, and I loved it. the idea that, after the dinosaurs went extinct, there was a whole other crop of bizarre animals that came and went blew my mind. A lot of these were in there.
