That's really too bad. I was just thinking that I hadn't seem him post in a while and was hoping he was still keeping on.

Condolences.

He was thoughtful enough to respond to my well wishes when he announced his condition. I didn't know him past his submissions and comments, he seemed like a really nice person. It is tragic that he had to suffer the way he did. Trying to end this with something more uplifting but can't seem to do it.

Religion always makes a lot more sense to me when someone dies. It's like fantasizing about winning the lottery. "Hey, maybe, you never know". Maybe it is just the beginning of something better. Maybe there is a reason for all of it. Maybe we see now through a website, darkly, but then face to face. Maybe one day we shall know even as we are known.

In the mean time, condolences, and best wishes out there to everyone keeping on keeping on.

I got to know him fairly well. He is a victim of America. He was a smart man who languished under an unfair educational system, an environment that he couldn't leave, a public servant that was abused until he took ill, and suffered enormously under the greed and heartlessness of the medical situation. He was a nice guy, well spoken, interested in the lives of complete strangers, and a talented critic.

I'm bad around death. I never acknowledged his death to him, because I try to maintain positivity. Right to the end, he was in contact. He needed peace badly. I hope he has found it. Good man.

The only reason I hope I'm wrong about there not being an afterlife is that people like Kingarthur have a shot at a happy comfortable existence in Heaven.

Got to know him better the past six months. Three days before he passed, I asked him for his mailing address, which he sent along. I was going to send him a care package and never got it ordered because I was trying to think of what might be appropriate to send. Tomorrow I'll send his family flowers and a thank you card, care of PoE, a weird community on the internet who have an affection for each other.

This really sucks. :(

No words, really. Can't say I knew him beyond POE, but that's a long time to interact with someone. Pretty sure he went all the way back to the POE red days?

One of the best. He always showed such good humor, wisdom and positivity, even as things got worse. An example to all of us.

I haven't been checking in much because I have a full time job now, but I'm glad that I caught this before it scrolled off the front page. King Arthur was a real gem on this site. I'll miss him.

It's rare to scantily know some one, but by their words or maybe even their face, you instinctively and positively know that they are quietly on the side of the good and love. He struck me as one of those people. One of the millions of rarities in a unbroken chain of kindness, who's muted legacy trips a wire in our collective memories, making it all more bearable and fun. He'll be missed.

I think we'd all agree that the charm of this site is partially--or mostly--in the contrast between some of the intelligent, diverse, talented, funny people we have and the ridiculous content we feature. kingarthur stood out as one of the more mature, thoughtful voices here and always left me with the impression that he was a good natured person. We were fortunate to have him in our community for as long as we did and he was as much a part of elevating this place as anyone.

Dude got his house destroyed by Hurricane Katrina and then came down with cancer. Life isn't supposed to be fair, but King Arthur was dealt a worse hand than most. Always a gent on the board, though. Godspeed, sire.

I always appreciated King Arthur's thoughtful comments. I didn't know him outside of PoeTV. The people and the discussions here have become a welcome respite from the pointless commentary that comes from the rest of the internet. His voice will be missed.

Truly we have lost one of our greats. RIP Kingarthur.

Gone but not forgotten. It's strange to feel sad, angry, and yet so fortunate. I guess with that comes a duty to try harder to make sure people suffer less. Kudos to all who keep this community alive, a buffer against even the shittiest of times.
