Possibly the birth of camp as a genre. I can't think of any previous examples of deliberate irony based in an advanced understanding of the mechanics of kitsch, and "On Kitsch" was a full decade away. Definitely one of the most important pieces of animation ever made.

Never noticed Dan Backslide's obvious influence on the Bruce Timm / Mark Hamill Joker until now.
Also, probably one of the top 10 Warner Bros shorts ever made.

I sometimes shout "A RUNABOUT! I'LL STEAL IT AND NOBODY WILL EVER KNOW!" because LOL RANDOM >-o-

Also, the delivery bears similarities to how Mark Hamill portrayed Joker.

kinda wish people wouldn't title their videos "remastered" when they mean "ripped an old dvd, stretched it to the wrong aspect ratio, deinterlaced it in the worst possible way, upscaled it"
