well, i mean, if your youtube tags are as good as the ones here i have no idea why you're not already a bazillionaire.

I've made videos that have taken me weeks of planning, days of filming, weeks of editing, required risking my life and cost me several hundreds of dollars, and while I don't complain about the views I got with them one day I was walking around and I saw a Reduviid bug that can carry Chagas disease and made a 15 second video with my cellphone. I uploaded it to Youtube with the title "Deadly Kissing Bug" and it has almost five thousand views just because it has the words Deadly and Kissing in the title...

Moral of the story is people search for stupid shit.

I think it's still possible to buy enough views to push your video up into a trending position and once you've done that a few times it just generally boosts your channel's visibility. I mean, maybe Youtube has cracked down on that but I doubt it.

Once on my YT channel (which I basically don't really use) I put up some movies I took from the International Balloon Fiesta one year just for friends and family to look at and they actually got a pretty good amount of hits, but I put them on private when one of the videos turned into some hundred-comment battleground with people talking about filthy immigrants ruining all of America.
