Who knew Maytag repairmen were kiddy fiddlers?

TeenerTot - 2017-08-08

Any kid whose mom had a Maytag on the fritz.

Is this the one where he makes them watch furry porn and do aerobics? Because I definitely saw a rerun of that one as a kid and it stuck with me for life. That and the Nancy Reagan episode.

Also the Onion AV Club did a long writeup on this a few years back:

I don't know, playing "Neptune King of the Sea" looks pretty fun:

This made me laugh and laugh when I first saw it.

This guy was a great actor. You kids are probably too young to remember «WKRP In Cincinnati». Great sitcom. I learnt my english through that, mostly.

Bort - 2017-08-09

I still hold that Mother Carlson was one of the greatest antagonists in TV history. I'll go there if anyone really wants me to. But her deal is ultimately that she was better off when WKRP was just a radio station that nobody cared about, and so served as a safe boring haven for her safe boring son.

Bort's game to talk about WKRP any time anyone wants to. Except for that Thanksgiving episode, the only episode that anyone remembers.

"Wrapped tighter than Andy's junk" is a phrase I've used before.
Those jeans, man.

Old_Zircon - 2017-08-10

I used to watch WKRP as a kid. Must have been second run reruns though, because we didn't get a TV until maybe 83 or so.

I saw it enough to recognize Richard Sanders voice in Day of the Tentacle. Last I heard, the show had so much popular music, they had to give up trying to license it and you get generic soundalike songs if you watch it today.

I was about 2 or 3 and in summer daycare when I first remember seeing it, which actually makes it one of my earliest memories. For some reason it either came on Nickelodeon (after Nick Jr's morning run) or something; anyway at most it was only a minute and that was pretty much time to go home. I think it was the first time I realized that there's other places with other cities and spent a good amount of time thinking WKRP was a real word, since I didn't know radio stations could begin with "W."
