I love Timothy Snyder. His book The Black Earth finally helped me to really grock how the Holocaust came about, from a ground-level, man-on-the-ground viewpoint.

I've watched every online talk of his I could find, and what he lacks in charisma, he more than makes up with insight & informed opinion. The man is a treasure.
