Well there's a lot to unpack here. I copied this from the Internet back in 1993, yes 1993:

Magoo was undoubtedly created by some illuminated force, and the clues to his origins are many.

Firstly, there's his name. "Magoo* is an obvious corruption of "Magus", an obvious reference to a being embodying some great power. Furthermore, his name can be formed by combining two Nordic runes; manaz and laguz, which mean "man" and "water" respectively. A drinking man, perhaps? Well, keep in mind who provided the voice for Mr. Magoo: Jim Bacchus! Certainly, calling Bacchus a "drinking man" wouldn't be entirely improper.

But wait, there's more... Jim Bacchus, in his most famous role, played Thurston Howell on "Gilligan's Island." What does Bacchus do but "thist and howl?" And who else howls (and burbles and blasphemes to boot) at the center of the universe but Azathoth, the *blind* idiot god! Magoo, of course, is blind.

So, please, show proper respect for this magnificent Beast of Chaos.
