There's nothing more disturbing than somebody else's fetish. I've always been somewhere in the middle on this one. I actually like how the foot uh, motif manifests in Tarentino's work. Foot porn is just too much. TALKING about feet is just too much. It's the tail wagging the dog.
I like Tyra Banks, ever since my friend Cynthia forced me to binge-watch several seasons of AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. I wouldn't call ANTM "interesting", but it turned out to be WAY more interesting than I would have expected. This is a good example of how weird she can be, which is why she's pretty cool. YOU GO, GIRL!

Death Proof is a movie about a REALLY creepy, horrible fetish, so creepy that I've never been able to watch the lap dance scene a second time after knowing what's really going on. I think that by bringing his own particular fetish into the proceedings, Tarentino made Death Proof a richer film. It's more honest, less puritanical. It makes the Kurt Russell character out to be more of a human being, and less of a monster, which, of course, makes him much more terrifying.
And I'm sure it's a conscious choice. I've seen nearly everything Tarentino has ever done, and nothing I've seen has remotely as much foot stuff as Death Proof has.
