I don't know, he's molestable.

yogarfield - 2017-12-28

Fucking wanker needs a good mugging or three. I could only skip around for about 30 seconds, so solid 5 for this guy being less watchable than toe worms.

Maggot Brain - 2017-12-28

Never has the hoarding of Bennie Babies looked so dignified.

How does someone that would buy $53,000 worth of Pokémon cards have $53,000 to spare?

There's something wrong with the system.

He never had to pay for medical care?

He has rich parents?

You spent that much too on bullshit but wont admit it (weed, beer, video games, etc), making his actions normal?

He caught them all and you guys suck at dog fighting?

The possibilities abound.

The most disturbing part is that the comments are overwhelmingly positive.

Rosebeekee - 2017-12-28

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the youtube comments are worth looking at. For every one sane person telling him it's a stupid idea there are 10 nerds saying how they don't know anything and it's a foolproof investment.

I've worked with multiple people who have tens of thousands of dollars in collectable toys.

One dude had a complete first run of the Transformers.

Another guy had extremely rare pinball and arcade machines. One machine was worth over $6,000.

Another, over 6,000 comics.

Over one hundred original, unopened Simpsons figures? Yep.

And a guy who bought original fantasy art, stuff like the Hildebrandts hobbit paintings.

Nerd investment strategies!

Cena_mark - 2017-12-29

My main concern with nerd investments is the uncertainty for demand in the future. Granted franchises like Transformers have kept going, but what if there's little interest in them in the future. Could their fate be like those of Hummel Figures who's fans are dying off.

Actually, the best money to be made is people who get in on the ground floor, and actually play the game when these cards were opened in packs. Cards like this, I don't see how they can go up? And reprints make it a collectible only, instead of just being in short supply. But I've watched tons of stupid kids foil out their decks, or collect rare print versions of their "favourite" cards. And while the game is fun (magic the gathering, but lets face it, they're all the same), and I've probably dropped a few grand playing it, I've spent at least as much, if not more playing and watching football, but for some reason, parents will spend tens of thousands for something like archery (bows, clubs, coaches, interstate/international competitions) and what fucking money is to be made from archery? At least as a pro magic/pokemon player you can win prizes, stream on twitch, open a shop. But yeah, thanks mum and dad for that sweet composite bow for when I had to go to nationals qualifiers. And yeah, not everyone ends up as a pro, but if you quit pokemon/magic and you are smart about it, you end up making a profit unless you're short of cash and in a hurry.

Trying so hard to justify a ridiculous decision.

I could live for, like 3 or 4 years on that kind of money.

What I am saying is basically this guy should be curb stomped.

SolRo - 2017-12-28

Imagine kidnapping him and stealing his collection, then forcing him to watch as you open all the unopened packs.

Rosebeekee - 2017-12-28

I couldn't stop picturing him going through the airport and TSA agents tearing open the box in front of him to make sure it doesn't have drugs or something.

This video is less a testament to the buyer and more a testament to the salesman.

"Hey look, I found some first-edition toys from the nineties. I could probably get like $500.00 for these! Whoops, forget the decimal place. Ah, I'll fix it later."
