You mean like Bar Rescue? Their wiki page indicates that nearly half of the "rescued" places either lose their original regulars and revert back to their old divebar ways or shutter their doors, seemingly unaware that a Las Vegas makeover of a New England bar might not be the best idea in the world.

Because these shows aren't about saving the business, they're about putting people into a pressure cooker situation and watching them self destruct.


Anyway, the owner is an asshole, the customers are smarmy entitled middle class assholes, Gordon Ramsey is a massive asshole.

Ramsey is actually really boring outside the US. In his shows in the UK, even their Hell's Kitchen, he's pretty boring.

You've got a good place and a good menu here, trim the items that have higher food cost whose product can't be used in other dishes, and you should be golden.

That doesn't sell well in the US though.

Youtube has a bunch of full British episodes that I enjoy, but I'm guessing that a lot of that is due to the un-bleeped fux n' stuff

is hotel hell the one where the big reveal is a blacklight exposee of how much cum is all over the room
