They're not good, but they're not bad, either. Extremely innocuous. They're like how Wally Wood described Nancy: by the time you'd decided not to read them, you'd already read them.
They are from a different era when nobody expected innocent entertainment to have "something important to say". A more enlightened era if you ask me.
