Good-looking, but I think I'd fail a SAN check after an hour or so of that voice acting.

Zombie Adam West?

Might be cool, but I' pretty wary these days of games with crazy long development cycles and issues getting funding. It always seems like they run out of stream before the game is totally finished. It's been pushed back a few times and there's not much confidence it will make this year's release date.
Still, I hope it will be good. The devs claim it will not shoehorn in shooting and stuff like that, but will play more like the Sherlock Holmes games where it's mostly investigate/old fashioned adventure puzzlin' stuff with some stealth sections. Very low emphasis on combat, supposedly, which is cool by me because I think we could use more games like that.

More to the point, how do you fight a Shoggoth?

The voice acting's pretty bad. I also noticed slowdown and I wasn't that impressed by the lighting effects in the graphics. But I hope it turns out to be good, as I like the Cthulhu Mythos and would enjoy seeing it become realized in a good videogame.

Yeah that's pretty much my take on this too. I enjoyed Dark Corners even with its glaring flaws, and this looks like it could have some good things, but it's looking... pretty dated already. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst and all that.

Okay but Dark Corners is a classic. Fight me.

Nah, it was a good game, but it did have problems. Mostly that it was buggy as fuck (the "sanity" effects frequently hard-crashed the game on Xbox) and some of the shooty stuff was kinda clumsy. But I think most people agree it was a solid Lovecraftian game.

I loved Dark Corners, even with its jankiness (and honestly, the FPS engine and controls just weren't a great fit) because of its atmosphere and pure classic narrative. It had some rough edges, but you could tell it was a labor of love and I'm a lover of inspired but flawed games I guess.
