Buzzfeed presents: Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Form a Lynch Mob
"In a detailed report by BuzzFeed News, Robyn Byrd and Katie Rice recounted befriending Kricfalusi when they were just 13 after writing him as fans and aspiring animators. They said he paid special attention to the two young girls and promised to help foster their careers. In Byrd’s case, she ended up becoming his live-in girlfriend and intern at his company when she was 16 and he was 39, according to the report. Rice, meanwhile, allegedly endured years of sexual harassment while working for Kricfalusi as well."
"“The 1990s were a time of mental and emotional fragility for Mr. Kricfalusi, especially after losing ‘Ren and Stimpy,’ his most prized creation. For a brief time, 25 years ago, he had a 16-year-old girlfriend,” a lawyer representing Kricfalusi told BuzzFeed in a statement. “Over the years John struggled with what were eventually diagnosed mental illnesses in 2008. To that point, for nearly three decades he had relied primarily on alcohol to self-medicate. Since that time he has worked feverishly on his mental health issues, and has been successful in stabilizing his life over the last decade. This achievement has allowed John the opportunity to grow and mature in ways he’d never had a chance at before.”"
"The article also named Rice, who said he never touched her but hit on her explicitly when she was underage. At one point she claimed he masturbated on the phone with her before she was 18. When she finally turned 18, she said he offered her a job at Spumco, which she accepted, but she left years later following a pattern of sexual harassment. Additionally, she claimed she discovered child pornography on his computer.
Kricfalusi’s lawyer denied he ever possessed child pornography. Both women said they feared retribution all these years, but were inspired to make their stories public amid the growing “#MeToo” movement."
Dude, I once had this temp job in a shitty office and this guy had drawn circles all over the girls section for the Sears catalog and I narced on him to the boss when my weeklong temp job was finished (the next day). That's the sort of thing you need to immediately tell someone about.
"What to get for my daughter's birthday...-OH SHIT!"

Pedophilia is only bad if it's not reported on by Buzzfeed.
Nominal, good joke but there was no way in hell this dude had kids. He was a middle aged hunchback that made everyone squirm. He told me several inappropriate jokes and screamed at me at the top of his lungs without warning several times. He was straight up nuts. He really liked to try to force hugs onto women that obviously were repulsed by him. He displayed signs of severe mental illness and he looked like the sketch of the Zodiac killer, only older.
So really I had to talk to his supervisor about that and I threw in the fact that I thought he was probably a pedophile. My Pedodar was off the charts with that one.
Thanks to POEtv I get to relive my youth from the 90's and then experience my nostalgia become obliterated by the horrific truth. My family is full of right0wing reactionaries, so were my former buddies from the Marine Corps. My one-time heroes have now turned into sociopaths lacking of any basic empathy.

So, when I was in middle school, I wrote him a letter, he wrote back, and we had a nice correspondance resulting me getting a lot of original artwork and a fairly honest understanding of how the animation industry works. He was never anything but kind, and I never had any inkling of creepiness from him. I've talked to multiple people, who had nearly identical experiences.
I was clearly not his type.
I met him at a convention about ten years later, we talked, he remembered me, but his eyes were like black pits into the abyss. His bitterness, hatred, and lack of understanding and utter rejection of the animation scene that he wasn't in absolute dictatorial control of seemed fairly heinous to me. I still say hi when I see him at a convention, but I suspect I won't be seeing him anymore.

I used to love John K. until I realised that writing well is actually really important. I love snappy animation but it doesn't beat a great story.
The pedo stuff doesn't surprise me. I always wondered why he was pushing Katie Rice into the spotlight.

Buzzfeed does do good journalism. Their past as a cluckbait site gives detractors some ammunition.

I'm certain he'll clear this up with a cartoon that doesn't wear its red flags like medals shaped like teensy girls with huge tits.
The cartoon will be four minutes long and it'll take him a decade to animate half of it before he gives up.

Hey, is he ever gonna finish "Cans without labels"?

I'd say "at least people like Milton Knight are more stable", but Knight just started a GoFundMe as he's being evicted from his Altadena house:
God, I hope nothing shitty gets attached to Danny Antonucci.
Danny Antonucci is the best thing to come out of the late 80's school of grossout cartoons that also produced John K. (unless you count Mike Judge but he grew out of that style fairly quickly.)
As far as I can tell there have never been allegations made against him. But it almost feels like by saying that, I'm invoking some sort of curse.
