Brought to you by Ben Dunn, who was also responsible for the comic title Ninja High School, another product of the late 1980s/early 1990s meant to appeal to people who couldn't get enough anime/manga sort of content at a time when the amount of actual Japanese produced commercially available content was limited in the United States. i.e. for people who couldn't even get fan-subtitled tapes of Urusei Yatsura and the like, the sort of comics that, no matter the publisher had that art with that "Ameri-manga meets 1980s indie black and white comic drawn in college study hall" look. If you've seen that sort of thing, you know what I mean.
So this is where they got the idea for Chrno Crusade.
I've always found Japan's complete lack of understanding or tact in regard to Christianity beyond fetish fuel/a fashion statement hilarious, and very entertaining.
idk, i going by all the references to biblical apocrypha and the creation myths that influenced the bible in anime/video games i think they have a better handle on it than most americans tbh.
