It's probably a reference to how, when Doom was first shown publicly a few years back, a few people (including Anita Sarkeesian, the woman who terrifies men) made public comments about how the level of mindless violence was awful and a step backwards for games. Funny thing is when the game came out, it got generally positive reviews and was well received, so if they *are* trying to drop little "hahah lol dumb sjw" crumbs for the manbabies it's weird because Doom generated, like NO controversy whatsoever really outside of a few twitter accounts or something.

Maybe they should make a Doom expansion where you TOTALLY MURDER WOMEN like CONSTANTLY while inside a giant BLOODY VAGINA or something HAW HAW!!!! Oh wait...that Agony already tried that and it worked out great.....

I think the joke may be this: The demons don't give any kind of a shit what you call them as they harvest the souls and warp the flesh of the mortals who fall into their realm, but the corporation that apparently just sent a city full of people into hell is still doing "appropriate language in the workplace" messages, because they completely don't get what they're actually doing.

It's the same basic joke as Hayden in the first game talking about how things have "gotten out of hand" while you glance down at the mutilated corpse of one of the employees.

I used to think there weren't that many people who consider themselves progressives who actively held racist, sexist, beliefs. No, this joke is fine. I've seen too many people in my own party justify racism or sexism on the grounds of changing the definition arbitrarily to include historical oppression. Somehow justifying bad behavior.

Go ahead and try to have a conversation with someone who thinks you owe the world because you're white and male. It's a really shitty thing being shown that prejudices like those are wrong your whole life and then have the people you assumed would stand up against said prejudice (many being part of an oppressed group themselves) suddenly start to excuse it in droves.

People are becoming extreme and shitty on both sides of the spectrum. Conservatives still hold the title of Most Shitty by a wide margin, and will for a long time to come, but there are some really depressing trends gaining momentum right now.

So yeah, fuck you if you don't have perspective on this issue.

If the usual suspects are crying about this on social media then that's funny because this is exactly what they sound like. I hear "you should say 'mortally-challenged,'" and I'm reminded of 'Minor-Attracted Person.'

But it's a fucking joke, just like in Doom 3 where the polite computer voice lectured you on Union Aerospace Corporation's monumental achievements while an Imp shoved a fireball down your throat.

It's good to see that for every one person whining about that joke, there are a good 20-odd people laughing at them for doing so.

It's a bottom-of-the-barrel joke though. Like, it would be beneath Family Guy. No target is off limits if you make it actually funny.

It's not a complicated joke, just making fun of megacorporations using "socially aware" language because they believe it will benefit them or as damage control for something they're responsible for, in this case UAC trying to put a positive PR spin on the demon invasion they helped bring about.

If I had $1500 for a new gaming rig and was not 34 and could be assured that a pound of sugar wouldn't rot my aging organs in the next 4-5 years, yeah, you bet your ass.

You wont need an expensive machine to run this. It is designed to run on xbox +ps4.. You could probably cobble together a machine that will run all curent-gen games at max for c. 600 depending what you already have (case, power supply, hard drives, peripherals, etc)

I've had the same gaming rig going on six years now. Core i7 with 30 GB RAM and a GeForce GTX 760 video card. It still runs nice but is starting to show its age with current gen stuff.

I suppose all I'd really need to do is swap out the old card for a 1060 or something, but I don't know the life left on the other parts, etc. I guess I don't know shit about computers either. This was a top-reviewed machine I got off Newegg back when I had money.

Quake II Team Fortress had some wicked mods that would let you grapplehook, fly, etc. This was c. 1998, mind.
