I hope that something better comes along.

Marlon Brawndo - 2018-08-25

I am so happy this movie exists.

garcet71283 - 2018-08-25

I’d be happy if it wasn’t Melissa McCarthy. She’s like movie repelleant to me.

Cena_mark - 2018-08-25

Typical sexist bullshit. Ghostbusters 2016 was great.

spikestoyiu - 2018-08-25

Ghostbusters 2016 was terrible but Melissa McCarthy makes me laugh.

It's a shame that the reviews have been really, really terrible for this so far.

Xenocide - 2018-08-26

Ghostbusters 2016 was completely average, which makes it better than Ghostbusters 2 but still nothing to write home about. It's a shame, the cast was great and I feel like they were finding their comedic niches throughout the movie but barely had time to find their groove before the plot took over. If they'd have gotten a sequel I bet it would have been something special. Oh, well.

This puppet movie looks like shit, though. Someone looked at that 30 second sketch from the pilot episode of Family Guy where Bert and Ernie are homicide detectives and said "Oh man, this would be way funnier if it went on for two hours."

That guy - 2018-08-26

Cena, that is such a cheap try.

Scrimmjob - 2018-08-26

Melissa McCarthy is pretty funny, she just has bad luck and has been in a ton of shitty movies. I went and saw this movie yesterday, mostly to escape the heat, and it made me laugh throughout. It's nothing too special, but it's enjoyable.

cognitivedissonance - 2018-08-26

Ghostbusters 2016 was not the fault of the cast, by any stretch. They were selling the material. The problem was trying to make a Ghostbusters sequel with the concept that nobody within the universe of the film knows who the Ghostbusters were.

garcet71283 - 2018-08-27

What material? 80% of the dialog was imprrov.

Old_Zircon - 2018-08-25

So the guy who made all of the crappy Muppet movies is doing a Meet the Feebles knockoff. Ok.

Meerkat - 2018-08-25

Pretty sure only one Meet the Feebles is more than enough.

Cena_mark - 2018-08-25

It's been over 30 years since meet the feebles. There can be more than one puppet movie for adults.

snothouse - 2018-08-25

The plot of Who Framed Rodger Rabbit with the ground-shattering humor of Let My Puppets Come.

simon666 - 2018-08-25

P1. Humor is the reaction to reversals of expectations.
P2. Happy Time Murders reverses expectations, like Avenue Q, by locating Muppets, which are associated with children themes and story lines, n adult situations, dealing with adult themes and story lines.
P3. Recognizing the mechanism by which the reversal occurs allows one to anticipate the reversal and thus expect it.
P4. Given P1 and P3, expecting the reversal prevents one from finding the reversal humorous.
C. Happy Time Murders isn't funny.

Callamon - 2018-08-25

Brian Henson made Farscape.

Seven Arts/H8 Red - 2018-08-25

Puppets who kill. How about that.

Hailey2006 - 2018-08-26

There's a Canadian TV show with that tile, guess what it's about?

Mother Lumper - 2018-08-25

Puppet Rapist did it first and did it better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DD0pBgotC0

Chicken the Did - 2018-08-26

When I was a kid they had commercials for this board game '1313 Deadend Drive' featuring puppets being killed. I used to laugh and laugh at that even though the actual board game kind of sucks.

So yeah, puppets being killed. I'm sold.

blase - 2018-08-26

"Edgy cute" has been done to death, so this is at least 25 years out of date, although it probably would have been poor timing if released during the early 90s.
