the fuck kind of design is it that you can shut off a safety blowoff for a pressurized system?

I have a boss who is always pushing us to ignore safety procedures in the name of getting things done slightly faster.

And I have a few idiot coworkers who gladly obey, some out of fear of losing their job, some out of misguided macho bullshit.
