This was before he'd really ramped up the drone strikes and the incarceration and deportation of undocumented immigrants and thrown black homeowners under the bus and massively expanded the domestic surveillance apparatus (but he's still by far the best president I've experienced in my lifetime, which is a very low bar since I was born in '78).
Anyhow, I've seen this clip a couple times before and it's still good.

Carter was my favourite. I once helped him build a house for Habitat here. By helped I mean I shook his hand and hammered a few nails then went for beers. But still.
I remember watching Reagan win and my whole family was aghast. Kind of like the past's black and white TV version of Trump.
I also remember watching the first moon landing. I am old.
