Aren't Violent J and Mr. 2 Dope pro wrestlers? I'll bet Durst paid him to do this, just to get people thinking about Limp Bizkit again. And it wouldn't be the first time he's done something like this either:

From the little digging I did, it sounds like they had a long beef with Durst because he was a dick to them and kicked them off some package tour at the last minute even though he was the one who approached them to be on it in the first place. Then they eventually made up and went on tour together recently and the speculation is he was a dick to them again. At least that's hat I could glean form the Google search snippets of Reddit threads that I didn't actually click through to, which is about as much effort as I felt like expending.

I've got nothing but perpetually bemused clown love for Shaggy, but Durst is the worst.

The tl;dr version of the ICP story is that they were a backyard wrestling crew in Detroit in the late 80s who tried to start a gang called Inner City Posse but weren't able to get any respect, then one of them allegedly had a vision that made them start dressing like clowns and putting pro wrestling promos about murdering racists to superficially derivitive Horrorcore beats that are actually heavily inspired by the 1970s European avant garde (do some digging about the influence of Gong on ICP for example), spent most of the 90s writing one of the most simultaneously ambitious and stupid musical cycles of the 20th century, on the scale of Wagner's Ring cycle (but nowhere near the depth of the Zappa catalog) except it's mostly about boobs and dicks and neden* and (like Zappa) and chopping bigots' heads off (less like Zappa, although they hated the same things), they were eventually dropped by the major label that signed them in the mid 90s but used the resources it had afforded to create one of the most successful independent record labels of all time (on par with the Grateful Dead when they had the first DIY punk label back in the 70s) and got way more successful. Then they had a decade long beef with Eminem because he bit their style and then put them on the bill at the release party for his first indie CD without asking them first. Then Shaggy choked some guy backstage at Woodstock 99 and had to spend a year in anger management. Then a buddy of mine sold them a Tempest arcade machine on eBay. Then the Then they started smoking a lot more weed and revealed that their entire 10 year output was actually about Christian mysticism. Then they started a pro wrestling league and one of the most successful annual music festivals in North America and Violent J got fatter. Then the FBI designated their fans a gang and ICP merchandise legally became "gang symbols" and led to people losing their jobs and being harassed and arreste just for having bad taste in tattoos. Then they sued the US government and lost. Then a pelican ate Violent J's cell phone and he ran away, and we still haven't figured out how magnets work.

Also you should always, always remind synth hipsters that ICP quoted Bruce Haack's National Anthem To the Moon a decade or two before they even knew who Bruce Haack was, every chance you get. It really annoys them.
