I hadn't heard of quadraphonic sound done that way, with the TV speaker being front channel, stereo FM as left and right, and their AM signal as rear, but it's a cool idea!
In the early days of radio, stereo tests were performed using two AM stations, then decades later, when many stations got FM mono transmitters, their AM would be one channel, the FM was the other.
Later, some FM stereo stations played quadraphonic recordings, and one AM stereo station did a test broadcast of quad material, KCJJ.
I liked that this was their 5th show and wonder how long it went on? I would have loved to be in on this, and it was pretty cutting edge at the time, with color TV and FM stereo being in a smaller percentage of homes in 1971.
Now I want to find the bands Adam Wind and Cold Trane!
