I looked the story up, because I mean, fallen police officer and all.
http://www.odmp.org/officer/23865-detective-deidre-irene-menge doht
"The patrol car was pushed into the vehicle she had stopped and became engulfed in flames with Detective Mengedoht trapped inside."
Christ. That's some Hollywood assassination plot shit right there.

Do you want her to look good, or be able to read?

The news reporter is supposedly responding in the YouTube comments

Do news readers not prepare at all?
|
jfcaron_ca - 2018-12-31 This is from a Canadian angle, but apparently not. This media criticism podcast shows how one company does a bunch of "local" news recordings on-the-fly with lots of fuckups:

|
jangbones - 2018-12-31 anchors get the scripts and never read them beforehand

Bye, Officer Pigshit.
|
|
|
simon666 - 2018-12-31 Maybe duck&cover was suggesting this is kind what the news anchor was expressing in calling the officer DeeDee Megadoodo when talking about her homicide.
|
duck&cover - 2019-01-01 Bingo, simon666. Maybe I shouldn't have called her pigshit, but it's not that much worse than what the news anchor said.

Oh yeah.
That's... That's bad.
I can't even come up with a snarky joke.
Jesus Christ.

Looking into this story, there's actually a sensible explanation for what happens in this video. It turns out that "DeeDee" was the nickname the late officer went by and "Mega Doodoo" is an understandable slight intentionally made by the anchor due to her mistrust of police officers as a result of her upbringing in a poor, inner-city neighborhood.
