I remember Playmobil! It's great! This movie must be targeted directly at my nostalgic memories!

The timeline on this seems pretty clear: if they started work on this right after The original Lego Movie became a surprise hit, they would have finished right around now...just in time for the second Lego Movie to be a surprise flop. OOPS.

I never had playmobil growing up, but looking at the sets they have now, I wish i did. They look really cute and fun.

That in the preview frame does not look cute and fun.

My favorite Playmobil set is the limited edition 500 year anniversary of the 99 Thesis Martin Luther playset. This is not a joke.

Playmobil is reasonably popular in Germany, and probably nowhere else.

We had some Playmobil when I was growing up. I only now learned that it wasn't blatant car propaganda by Mobil Oil. Still all I remember it lots of cars and gas station sets...

Playmobil medieval stuff was awesome. My sister had the huge townhouse that was really impressive any way you look at it.

Maybe this is because I have nieces and nephews but...this looks not horrible to me. Most animated movies are worse. Most kids films are offensively stupid. At least the color schemes and character designs don't make me want to stab my eyes out with this one.

I'll watch this with the munchkins. It doesn't totally insult the intelligence of the average human. Unlike Hotel Transylvania, Smallfoot, that fucking Grinch movie. This looks more like innocent fun and it pairs well with children as a concept, but maybe it is tugging on a shred of my nostalgia.

It is just a shred, though. Why did they make this again?
