The 90s, the last decade that Boomers had enough cultural impact for the general public to give a shit about Elvis.
Pretty sure the 90s Elvis stuff was mostly the tail end of gen-x irony being relevant. I think a better example of what you're talking about would be every white rock band the industry was flogging that season being "the next Beatles." Anyway, we're all boomers here, don't fool yourself.
