I thought it was just fine for mid-90's alternapop. However, keep in mind that Elastica was often accused (and once, sued) of basically stealing songs from other musicians.

I think Elastica was the first album I ever bought. Hearing people say that they ripped off Wire and The Fall got me to check out Wire and The Fall, for which I am eternally grateful.
