Speaking of known locals, I was in Berkeley 10 year ago cross the street near the university and this homeless man stumbled into the street, had spittle all over his face, and fell down in the middle of the road; I asked if he was okay and he mutters something about a seizure and being unable to get up. Says: Call ambulance. He seemed pretty fucked up; was drunk, and I think pissed and maybe shat himself. His face was scabbed. He did not look good. So I call 911. The fire station was only a few blocks away so I only had to direct traffic around the guy for a few minutes. When fire engine pulls up, the doors swing open, and the fire fighters look down say: God damn it, Rodney! Get up! Get the hell up. This is the third time today!
Someone grabs him, Rodney, by the shoulder and pulls him up and he just meanders across the road and onto campus.
Ah Berkeley.
