It's cool and all but I don't think I like FPS RE, maybe there were people like that that perfered tank controls back in the day when RE4 dropped, sign of me aging or whatever, just don't like these jump-scare Amnesia type games.
I've known plenty of Dumitrescus in my life and none of them were giant vampire ladies. :

I think "jumpscares" sells the genre short. Alien: Isolation is the best survival horror game from the past 10 years, and it was built as a third-person game for most of its development, until the devs realized a first-person perspective was just more immersive. And that's how RE7 felt, too: more immersive, atmospheric, and haunting than the two subsequent reboots, which focused more on action and fetch-puzzles. There are plenty of good third-person RE games (I think Revelations 2 is better than many of the "main" entries), but I'm glad to see Capcom giving their experiment with a different format one more try.
