What's complicated is the relationship between police brutality and funding the police. There's all kinds of ways where more funding for cops could translate into less police brutality. Body cams, for example. I'm not saying that's what happening. I am saying that implying that increased funding = support for police brutality is bullshit. Biden is making a point of proving that he's not for defunding because that's political suicide. If Republicans get back into power, it's not going to lead to less police brutality. Trump pardoned Joe Arpaio because "he was just doing his job." This was a sheriff who was convicted of a crime for disobeying a court order to end racial profiling.
