I really liked Dirk Pitt books up until I was in high school. Of course, I also liked Doc Savage, Tarzan, John Carter and all that kind of stuff.

I tried reading one of the later books in my twenties. I think it was "Inca Gold" and just sort of stopped reading it about a third of the way through.

I recall begging my parents to rent this movie on VHS and being deeply disappointed.
