I love this.
I have a friend who is mid-40s and still seeking a wife. He very rarely goes on a date because nobody can meet his requirements. He's stoic and sincere when he confides in us friends about how God hasn't blessed him with a wife yet.
He is a smart guy and has a decent job. He's not fat but also is not attractive. Surely he could land a 5 or 6. I've tried a few times to get him on a dating app so he could get some reps in but it's impossible.

Enjoy - 2021-09-24 Not sure why I'm so fascinated by this topic. I also have a lady friend from high school. She was a class ahead of me and now would be 48 years old.
All day long she bemoans the dating scene on Facebook. She's a 4 at best but thinks a young heart surgeon must be waiting out there ready to go full simp and follow her around all day. She's a singer-songwriter and prolifically posts her original songs - none of which has 5 seconds of listenable music - despite 40 years at the craft.
Her daily posts include a bad date, a bad song, and then a picture of one of her many cats. She also got married twice in the last few years and both marriages were quickly annulled with no explanation.
