It's made more depressing that so much group effort and energy is put into being such pointlessly shitty human beings.
Stuff like this is also one of the reasons I hate Ready Player One so passionately. You have bored hobbyists using online collaboration to solve impossible tasks like this in under 48 hours. Ernest Cline thinks that nobody would be able to solve infinitely simpler stuff in over 10 years when a trillion dollar prize is on the line and there are massive corporations in the ring.
This kind of stuff had been around for over 10 years when Cline wrote that shitty book, two hours of simple research could have brought him up to speed on it, and he still couldn't make anything halfway not shit.
