Here's a crazy idea: The whole hero worship thing is much more common in conservative circles, and as a leftist I can 100% say I did not want Biden, but he was the lesser of two evils. He's an embarrassing moron, but you're fucking lying to yourself if you think Trump isn't worse.

I haven't met a single die hard Biden fan. Pretty much everyone understands he was the better choice, which is not the same as him being anyone's favorite. There's a difference between legitimate criticism and the kind of shit the right and shitlibertarians say about him.

One problem with conservatives in America is that they don't have a positive policy program. They don't actually say what they're for, their whole brand is what they're against. It's a party of lib-owners and snowflake-triggerers, and that's it.

After Trump (and really after Obama's first year or so), the mainstream Democratic party has followed suit. They'll talk about goals in vague terms, but it's clear that the only reason to vote Democratic is to keep the other guys out of office. Biden hasn't achieved, and hasn't really promised, anything other than not being Trump.

It is a politics of pure opposition.

We wanted Bernie, you gave us Biden, and you're dealing with the lack of enthusiasm from that choice. Please don't then demand we feign allegiance to him.

The GOP minority is able to exercise power because of the Constitution's mechanisms favoring oligarchs–electoral collage, senate, gerrymandering in the house, SCOTUS, etc. Like, if you care about not having climate apocalypse, or abortion rights, or lgbt rights, or health care, or labor unions, etc., making the government as systematically democratic as possible should be your number one priority. Dem reluctance to fix these mechanisms (and also voter suppression) and make it so that they can exercise power is one of the most disheartening things in American politics.

Just because people can see reality regarding Biden doesn't mean they like Trump. They're both miserably awful fucks who deserve to be tried for crimes against humanity.
