Hearing of this also worried me for the same reason. I hope rational thought still exists in Putin's senile and cancer poisoned brain to choose an exit / redefined objectives rather than further escalating it as he has no hope of meaningful victory.

Crackersmack - 2022-04-15 buddy I think we both know that this ends with Ukraine negotiating with Russia on Russia's terms and they'll be lucky if they don't have to turn Zelensky over
|
Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2022-04-15 @Simillion CIA director William Burns and also Oleksiy Arestovych have both said they are "worried" about Putin using tactical nukes (Russia has 2000 of them afaik), and they seem to have correctly predicted everything that has happened so far. Though there is no evidence of tactical nukes being mobilised.
Using them would be a risk, what would the west do if he used them? probably more of the same sanctions and support for Ukraine without going to war, and Putin has shown himself to be willing take stupid risks for no reason already.

Lef - 2022-04-15 Wouldn't Ukraine be lucky to hand over Z?
Why do you want a joker running your country?

Cena_mark - 2022-04-16 He may have been a comedian, but he's been a courageous and incredible leader. Way better than that coward Ghani.

Such an unfortunate accident. I guess a sailor was smoking in the magazine.
|
Nominal - 2022-04-15 Anything that assumes a Russian ISN'T smoking is just bad design.
|
SolRo - 2022-04-15 Yay stereotyping.
Typical dumb Americans.
|
Cena_mark - 2022-04-15 Hey, I'm going along with Moskow's narrative. They said it was an accident. No way Ukraine could have sunk their mighty warship it was a sailor smoking or cooking borscht in the magazine. That's how ships get lost.

SolRo - 2022-04-15 Hey must be nice not being the target of American jingoistic bigotry.

Cena_mark - 2022-04-15 Chill out and have a Kiev Mule. No need to freak out and play freedom roulette over this

Interesting Twitter thread detailing how they did it;

"one of the most audaciously successful attacks in modern naval history"
|
SolRo - 2022-04-15 The most impressive thing about the unconfirmed propaganda is how they resurrected the 13 dead island guards during the attack.
|
Cena_mark - 2022-04-15 They just misplaced their 612' cruiser.

ashtar. - 2022-04-15 This was clearly an off the books US Coast Guard black team.

A flagship shouldn't be within missile range of the coast.
That's just poor strategy.
