The joke is that as pc is backwards compatible with every console / arcade cabinet / classic computer, I *can* play mario on my pc, with mods that allow you to fuck the goombas (as the devs clearly originally intended)

'Console peasant' is just funny cus its a dumb meme. But srsly in a capitalistic society we vote with our wallets, if you support consoles / apple / google etc. you're voting for corporations to control all of computing, have everyone's data and have individuals not be allowed to do what they want with *their* supposed computer or even repair it.

Pretty soon you won't own any games, just licenses. Which could go poof for any number of arbitrary reasons. I mean, that's my entire steam library. I should really start using gog.
