From a technical / realistic point of view, of course it's all bullshit. That being said though, there's nothing stopping nft's becoming valuable in our society. Rich assholes have been devising ways to speculate over literally *anything*, currency, stuff people actually need to live like houses, 'futures' which are literally gambling, art which is in reality almost worthless but speculators / investors / collectors have convinced all the other stupid rich assholes they are valuable; including a non existent concept as a new thing to gamble with is not a big step.

Lets say pre 20th century, you had peasants who worked, and aristocrats who owned land and spent all their time hanging out in clubs drinking and gambling, inventing games like baccarat n shit.

At least things were *clear* then. Nowadays US peasants think they're gonna be aristocrats one day, and aristocrats pretend to work with pompous made up jobs being chairperson of this or that. Also instead of just gambling with money against other rich assholes, now with the stock market and some other things I mentioned above, their gambling actually affects the real world. It affects things people actually need to live.

Imo stock market, currency trading, futures, etc etc. are all just the modern version of the aristos gambling games of old.

There are people who have so much money, they can afford to spend thousands of dollars on some total fucking nonsense, in the hopes that it will allow them to have more money. Fuck these people.
