I don’t think Russia is blameless.

I’m just trying to highlight what Americans seem to have forgotten, or outright denied from the start; this has been a civil war since 2014 and west Ukraine has done a lot of war crimes to earn the hatred of east Ukrainians. Because there’s this delusional view now that literally only Russian citizens are fighting this war against an innocent and blameless unified Ukraine.

Russia invading kinda makes it not a civil war. It is clearly an act of Russian aggression, and the Russians will parade a few of the separatists to try to sell a civil war narrative. Of course you swallowed that tripe, you also believe there was genocide against the ethnic Russians.

It was a civil war and Russia supported one side while nato supported the other side.

You don’t get to act like your side supplying weapons to one side is neutral while Russia supplying weapons to the other side is not neutral.

Russia did far more than just support. It was more than a proxy war. Russia invaded and took Ukraine. It wasn't a civil war, it was an invasion.

Russia annexed Crimea after its population vote to leave Ukraine. Beside that the eastern regions were left to fight for their independence against what at the start was literally an army versus a militia armed with rifles.

Crimea has been part of Russia since before America was a country
