As I previously stated, ash, I don't doubt your specific claim, even though it's just that, and I never said anything about doubting abuses at Gitmo in general. They unquestionably occurred, and abuses throughout the US prison system at large are happening as we speak. But Uyghur detention camps are also well-documented - intimately so - and I simply reject the implication that there's a moral equivalency between abuses in US detention facilities and the massive scale of forced labor and reeducation camps jailing over a million innocent men, women and children. And you don't need to look to the US govt for those facts and statistics, look to the papers of the European Parliament, look to the UK govt statement, or to that of the French, or the Germans, or look to Human Rights Watch, look to Google Earth, or to the the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, or to any external authority you wish. There's zero dispute about what's going on there, and it's horrific, and there's a direct line between this ongoing mass-atrocity and the smug, soulless, power-obsessed men in this video, who comprise the so-called "steering committee."
