MLK's views were pretty similar to Bernie Sanders, if not further left.

Bankman-Freid, his associates, and donation recipients were "centrist" liberals. He gave a bunch of money to Biden and Kirsten Gillibrand. He was pals with Bill Clinton. To be fair, he was mostly trying to influence crypto regulations rather than promote an ideology. But he's not giving money to Bernie.

The real barrel of laughs are people who think the Democrats are in any way, shape or form on the left.

Based on the episode of NOVA I just watched, and partly understand, I feel like the technology may prove to have value apart from the rush to turn it into a big money-making opportunity. Getting in on the ground floor sounds nice, but then you only have one floor.

Bitcoin is back down to where it was in 2020. Crypto is a purely speculative asset and its price going up depends on more people buying it. Accessibility to retail investors through exchanges and bad publicity are important.

It's more than that. It's both a commodity and a currency, where its value is derived from the nature of the transactions, such as buying foreign assets without interference and gatekeeping, or fast-tracking large sums to immediate requirements. The bullshit sales aspect of it is that it's independent of global markets, when the opposite is true - they're intrinsically linked.
