I love that the token black character in Team Fortress 2 is enough of a stereotype to drink malt liquor from a jug, but then turns out to be Scottish.

"Ah'm a black Scottish cyclops! They got moore *beeeeeeep* than they got o' me"
Also the fact that he's clearly out of his mind drunk sat at that desk is just wicked.

I really wanted to drop a star for the horrible fake Scottish accent, but I just can't bring myself to give TF2 less than 5 stars.

The first one of these character videos that didn't 100% nail it. I don't blame you though - it was probably a pretty tough task to make one of the characters black without resorting to stereotypes or doing it in a way that someone somewhere would find offensive. Making him Scottish renders him too incongruous to be offensive, so I guess that works.

This was unenjoyable...when you have to have the black character explain why he doesn't sound black at all, that's NO GOOD

This isn't even in the same league as the HWGuy and Soldier videos.

Only a few redeeming lines, otherwise not really at the level of heavy, solider...even engineer....

I want pyro.

I like Scottish accents.

Was a solid four stars until the final singer.

You could write a short essay on how much of an improvement this is on the previous clips, but the "prancing around with your head full of eyeballs" moment speaks for itself.

These just keep getting better and better.

Hmm. I've noticed a trend here with these TF2 trailers.
Heavy Weapons Guy: Big Slavic looking man speaks with Slavic accent and has Slavic mannerisms.
PoE community response: Brilliant! 5 Stars!

Soldier: Soldier-y individual speaks in a manner resembling a Drill Sergent and is very war-oriented.
PoE community response: Brilliant! 5 Stars!

Engineer: Blue collar looking man plays acoustic guitar by a "campfire" and speaks with a slow drawl with a hint of southern influence.
PoE community response: Brillant! 5 Stars!

Demoman: Black man speaks with a Scottish accent and has Scottish mannerisms.
PoE community response: Um . . .erm . . . Good, but not as good as the other ones.

Looks like this one might have stepped out of some people's comfort zones. I can't help but wonder if this video would have been better received if either 1.) Demoman was a pale guy with a kilt or 2.) Demoman had a South African accent or 3.) That really was malt liquor he's swigging down.

In any case, Brillant! 5 Stars!

This has given me hope that yes, there WILL be a video for each and every class in the game.

And yes, 'head full of eyeballs' sells it for me.

Looking back in retrospect, months later, all of the TF2 "Meet" videos captured their character wonderfully. This is definitely The Demoman. I just hope they squeeze a few more out before the game loses corporate priority.

Demoman is the best class.

So, now that you jerkoffs have waited 6 months for "Meet the Scout", do you still doubt that "Meet the Demoman" is pure excellence?
