So, has Jack Nicholson ever played a character who isn't an asshole, insane, or an insane asshole?

With all the other Shining clips listed here, I was surprised by this one's absence. Couldn't find it by searching, so I apologize if it's a dupe.

Fun fact: The door was originally supposed to be a fake, but Nicholson got so good and breaking through it that it would shatter upon one hit with the axe. Thus a real door was substituted.

In short: Don't piss off Jack Nicholson.

Probably my least favorite scene in the movie, due to overexposure.

This is one of my favorite shots in the entire film. I love how Kubrick uses the camera in this film, and the back and forth tracking of Jack hitting the door is just so fucking awesome, even though it's only used for a few seconds.

I know this should be true for most of the stuff here, but somehow just for this one, seeing this in a tiny rectangle surrounded by an ad for flights to india and dumb comments makes this not enjoyable.
