I always loved how the intros were full of crisp, fluidly animated actions scenes and then the show is a PowerPoint presentation on freshman philosophy.

FeeFiFoFoTheFifeFifeBrown - 2007-10-18

I remember when I watched it for the first time. The intro had me pretty hooked and then...yeah.

zatojones - 2007-10-18

Why did they give their robot such huge knockers?

HURF BLURF DUH - 2007-10-18

I could be way off base on this but I think it might have something to do with this show being made in Japan.

TrafficCone - 2007-10-18

They're hollow and she hides bombs in them.

Dr. Lobotomy - 2007-10-18

I thought it was because she had a side gig as a camwhore for booze money or something along those lines.

Anyway, didn't PoE dredge up anthropomorphic horse porn drawn by the guy who created that series a while back? So huge knockers on robots is probably a step in the right direction for Japan.

Shion - 2007-10-18

If I got to buy myself a new ubermench robot body, I'd get huge knockers too. I mean, why go to all that trouble to have your brain transplanted and end up looking bad?

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-18

Because then you'd be bitching about loli or whatever, and God knows how you all hate it when that comes up.

Xenocide - 2007-10-18

Yeah, this is one of the few times when having impossibly hot chicks everywhere makes sense. You think that in a world where everyone can fully customize their own bodies, there's going to be ugly people walking around?

theSnake - 2007-10-18

Hey everyone its some terrible anime for all the fags that love cartoons. That little rappin' breakdown at the end was funky fresh.

zatojones - 2007-10-18

confirm/deny: you're a pretty tough hombre IRL

Tyrathca - 2007-10-18

Oh yeah, that animation is fucking AWFUL. No really. You must really know what you're talking about there.
Wanker.

Afgh - 2007-10-18

To characterize POETV as a place that loves anime is so ludicrous that now I have to give this five stars without even watching.

NineEleven - 2007-10-19

lulz

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-18

I can't remember, did they ever show what her apartment looked like in the anime series? Because if she had a super robot body AND a nice apartment, I'm going to be really upset.

Brautwurst_Barbarian - 2007-10-18

I haven't seen this show in a while, but I believe she lives in a fucking PENTHOUSE.

A penthouse where she lies twisted around other lesbian robotic women.

I'm not kidding.

(But what do you expect from a series based of a manga that had a hardcore sex scene in it? I'm amazed there aren't any tentacles.)

Fur is Murder - 2007-10-18

As I recall, she has several nice apartments.

Xenocide - 2007-10-18

It made me happy to think that in the future, they finally start paying good cops what they're worth.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2007-10-18

Mee-Ka-ru-maaaan!

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-10-18

Mee-Ku-Ru-Beeeaaam?

Keefu - 2007-10-18

These days, they'd have her and all the rest of the team do a dance to go along with the song.

SolRo - 2007-10-18

All the scenes are from the show, and it's a good show.

But I saw this show as subtitled releases when it was still comming out in japan, never saw this intro.

athodyd - 2007-10-18

Answering two questions here:

1: according to the movie she had a bunch of places (safehouses and such), according to the comic she did indeed loll around in a big messy lesbian penthouse.

2: the creator, Shirow Masamune, does indeed draw big-titty horse porn, and considering his pen name roughly translates as BADASS McMYSTIKSWORD, that really shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. He's pretty clearly a creepy pervo furry hikkikomori but with admirable drawing skills and a reasonably good ability to express himself.

3: theSnake is a big fat fag

Cheese - 2007-10-18

Just a hunch, but I'd venture a guess it doesn't show on AS because it completely misrepresents the tone of the show? If I saw that intro and then watched a half hour tense battle between cybernetic snipers, I think I'd want my money back.

That said, I love GitS:Sac (with possible exception to the movie, Solid State Society, that kinda sucked).

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2007-10-19

If by "a reasonably good ability to express himself" you mean "gets bogged down in a technolust which obfuscates any decent characterization or atmosphere to the point of unreadability," I'd agree.

In fact, when people said that the anime was more faithful to the comic than the movie, I pretty much stayed away.
