"Elijah Wood is a fine actor"

..........

Lindner - 2008-07-09

I liked him in Sin City... then again that might be because he didn't have any lines.

DrVital - 2007-11-17

Turns out the film was Hobbit forming.

YakooMarkTwo - 2008-03-20

oh zing

Randroid - 2007-11-17

Stupid, fat hobbit.

Xenocide - 2007-11-17

Oh, come on, Roger. There are so many better reasons to hate this film than the old "OMG KIDS MIGHT IMITATE IT" chestnut. It's an absolutely horrible movie in every possible respect. Focus on that.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2007-11-17

Somewhat disappointing after reading Ebert's original review. But then again, most things would be.

Caminante Nocturno - 2007-11-17

The criticism is more severe because they won't swear.

x - 2007-11-17

Yes!

Emcee - 2007-11-17

Was Siskel groaning when Roger started harping on "what is this teaching our children"?

Repomancer - 2007-11-17

I'm not sure why, but I get the impression they didn't like it.

fluffy - 2008-04-17

But Siskel called it first-class!

Lothy - 2007-11-17

Shut up, Ebert, let Siskel talk!

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-11-18

Ebert's written review was better, but oh the joy of seeing them hate a film with such passion.

Jeff Fries - 2007-11-18

From the "lavender steel" epoch

GoneGirl - 2007-11-18

I remember watching the film at a friend's house. I was afraid I was the only person who thought it was horrible. Thank you, S&E, for vindication.

Feyd - 2007-11-19

What happened to the rest of this review? It's missing the part where he started banging his fist on the armrest and saying "HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED this movie."

dododge - 2011-07-25

This movie comes up again in their "worst of 1994" special. No surprise, they both pick it as their #1 worst movie of the year, so they get to spend another 4-5 minutes hating on it. That show includes Ebert reading part of his written review on-camera.

joelkazoo - 2009-01-19

Ebert's print review was better, and I think Siskel got his point across how much he hated the movie better with fewer words and more savagery.
