Turns out the film was Hobbit forming.

Stupid, fat hobbit.

Oh, come on, Roger. There are so many better reasons to hate this film than the old "OMG KIDS MIGHT IMITATE IT" chestnut. It's an absolutely horrible movie in every possible respect. Focus on that.

The criticism is more severe because they won't swear.

Was Siskel groaning when Roger started harping on "what is this teaching our children"?

I'm not sure why, but I get the impression they didn't like it.

Shut up, Ebert, let Siskel talk!

Ebert's written review was better, but oh the joy of seeing them hate a film with such passion.

I remember watching the film at a friend's house. I was afraid I was the only person who thought it was horrible. Thank you, S&E, for vindication.

What happened to the rest of this review? It's missing the part where he started banging his fist on the armrest and saying "HATED HATED HATED HATED HATED this movie."

Ebert's print review was better, and I think Siskel got his point across how much he hated the movie better with fewer words and more savagery.
