I'd rather see the city life than boats, but still interesting.

That's an obscure complaint. Were you able to read the title of the film before viewing it?

IrishWhiskey - 2007-12-06

Yes, Captain Sarcasm.

The title saying it was the Thames, in no way guaranteed it would be almost completely images of boats.

The film is barely distinguishable from later films of the Thames, which are quite prevalent. Those ships are not particularly distinct to that time period, and little else is shown. What shots of the banks we see provide more contrast to the modern era, and so I commented that would be more interesting to me. Captain.

"The title saying it was the Thames, in no way guaranteed it would be almost completely images of boats."

I have almost nothing else to add to this statement, which is completely hilarious entirely on its own. I might, however, direct you to the wonderful resource Wikipedia, where a quick search for "Thames" will inform you that it is, in fact, a river. If further enlightenment is needed, a search for "boat" might help.

I'm with Whiskey.
If you want to argue semantics, it says "Colour" on the Themes. Where is all the "colour"? Besides the occasional splash of red, those boats were pretty drab.
Jeez, people.

Amazing. Seems like it was shot 20 years ago and not over 70.

Yes, this was the same reaction I had. Practically the only clue to it's actual date is the woman's dress at the very beginning.

I had no idea that there were so many cars on the road back then.

I thought of that too, but then London was one of the biggest cities in the world. Based on pure historical interest, this is totally fascinating.
