Oh, man. I remember being a kid and seeing one of these at 3:00 in the morning on the USA network.

This isn't the one I remember, though. The one I saw had a couple sitting on their couch watching a movie that grinds to a halt. "Ohhh, the VCR did it again.. and Forrest Gump is only 3 weeks old!" complains the woman. A repairman shows up, but instead of fixing the VCR, he replaces it with a Philips CD-I (while demonstrating how easy it is to hook A/V cables to your TV). Yeah, this machine plays MOVIES on DISCS! It will have plenty of lasting value over your VCR! That'll be $ 700.

Provides half hours of entertainment!

I remember that brief period of time when CDI VCDs were on sale in places like best Buy and such. Right next to the Playstation games that everyone laughed at. "THOSE SYSTEMS ARE GOING NOWHERE!!"
At least they were half right.

I've played Hotel Mario and both Zelda games. They aren't even fun in a 'wow these are hilariously bad' way. They are literally just broken, dysfunctional games that leave you feeling empty and depressed inside. I feel embarrassed for anybody with their name attached to this system and any media to ever grace it.
