So can we put them to work in factories yet?

THis is astounding to me. I've seen these elephants who are given paints and such, but usually they make abstracts or something that doesn't, at least to us humans, appear as anything. I have never seen this kind of focused precision before to actually, carefully, MAKE something. Absolutely amazing.
I know their talent is being influenced and opened up by people showing them how to do it and everything, but that to me doesn't make it any less interesting.

kelpfoot - 2008-03-28 I am 90% sure the elephant is the tool and not the artist. In all of these videos, there's some guy standing next to the elephant's head, and in some of them you can actually see him "helping" the elephant.

manfred - 2008-03-28 The instructor tells the elephant where to start a line and what color to use. If the elephants receive no help they just smear the board with random lines.

Xenocide - 2008-03-28 It's still pretty impressive, though. How many other animals would be able to follow those directions?

I for one, welcome the fact that elephants will never be our overlords because artists are all poor and thus are incapable of threatening the establishment in any real way.

What? No jokes about elephants taking us over? I swear, you faggots. A dolphin punches a sponge and you all go crying into your bomb shelters. A fucking elephant starts creating culture and you all go wobbly in the groins.
Oh wait, there is one elephants as overlords joke.

Not surprising when you consider that humans and elephants share a common ancestor.

I've seen it live. Several elephants painted. All without any apparent guidance. Some painted flowers or trees. One painted a landscape at sunset. One just randomly smeared paint on the canvas and it looked like shit. This is legit.

More evidence to justify my terror of elephants.
I TOLD YOU THEY WERE TOO SMART AND TOO POWERFUL! When they destroy everything you ever loved in revenge for the way humanity has used their species, don't come crying to me!

I heard humans can't really draw, they need some instructor to tell them how to hold a brush, and how to draw a recognizable outline.
Fuck you haters, It'd be one thing if the elephant cranked out the same shape over and over, but she has had art instruction, and can paint an elephant shape same as you can train your dumbass kid to draw a smiley face.
With no art school education, they just make abstract paintings that show genuine symmetry and emotion. Wait, is this a dick waving contest about "elephants can't paint"? Well, lets bring it on. Critics vs artists, bare handed brawl. Lets do it fags.
They can play music on some instruments too, with enough training. So music is.. what, SERIOUSLY FUCK YOU. Spare your ham-slap for glimmers of intelligence in retarded humans, kay?
