So the actor playing Link sort of looks like a cross between Kevin Bacon and Micheal Jackson. Don't ask me to explain my logic, but had I not known this was a prank, that fact would have convinced me that this was real.

I too am almost more interested in where the budget for this thing came from. Seems way too elaborate for a prank on a videogame site, even one of epic proportions. In fact, now that I think about it, I remember seeing a picture of the CGI Gohma versus Link months and months ago.

I pretty much knew this was a hoax as soon as I realized how fucking retarded Link looked in the elf hat. No test audience would take that shit seriously.

(also, that nobody had heard anything at all about this being in development/casting/shooting/etc., but seriously. that hat/baggy sweatshirt combo is pretty awful. it'd have to go for a serious film.)

I would really, really like to find out how much this cost, and the story behind how it was approved as a worthwhile endeavor. The clip itself isn't even that good. The only amazing thing about it is the apparent cost for a throwaway April Fool's gag. Does an internet game review site really have this much money to burn? It's 1999 all over again.

I'm glad it's a prank just because if the trailer came a year before the movie and it looked this good it'd be horrible when it eventually came out.
Also, it wouldn't be good anyway based off of this trailer, they just took the best game and movie-ized it. That doesn't work. See: Any Uwe Boll video game movie ever.
