So Bluto married Janet Reno? That's fine, but since the major cause of Popeye and Bluto's animosity was their feelings towards Olive, why are they still fighting now that they've both settled down?
I know what the answers to these questions are. I'm just being snooty about how crappy a cartoon this was.
I remember this show. It's just as bad as you would imagine. As a kid, I used really love popeye, so when this show came out my hopes and dreams where built up and then subsequently smashed to pieces.
I think they inflated the sea monster with air. The lines are there to indicate that they are creating wind currents from blowing so hard. But yes, there is probably a very large amount of spit in that sea monster too.
Wow. I think people are just looking at this whole "Popeye's son looks nothing like his parents" thing wrong. Clearly both Popeye and Olive have the recessive gene for "blonde surfer". This was a common problem in the 80's and many surfers were born to non-surfer parents. Oddly enough the "Huge and terrible bi-ceps" gene carried through but only with the addition of spinach which Popeye Jr according to Wikipedia "hates but respects spinach".
