I had to get up at six AM every Saturday in the hopes of watching this show, and there was never any guarantee that the station showing it would remember to do so.
It was tough being an anime fan back then. You had to work for your anime, not like you kids today with your torrents and your chans and your Internets!
Word. Unless you spoke Spanish and had access to stuff like TV Azteca where they usually based their dubs off of the Japanese ones and as such could watch Dragon Warrior, Saint Seiya and Magic Knight Rayearth with most, if not all, the blood and nudity intact.
Only caught one episode of this when it came out. All I remember was the magician and evil floating wizard guy beating the shit out of each other for 30 minutes. Tried to catch it again but they replaced the time slot with some Hannah Barbara shit.
That guy really needs to learn to draw some new characters someday. Is double digits asking too much?
to be fair, he was doing this just after he did the Dragonball stuff, so he was probably trying to get some recognition and popularity for the show in Japan.
I don't know why it took forever for Dragonball Z to hit the US. They had NES games of it.
I remember a couple episodes of this show. It seemed to really focus on the storyline of Dragon Warrior III.
