Guitar Hero is doing a great service by weeding out everyone not really serious about learning guitar. That's less of those annoying fucks who learn a couple of chords, half a song, and carry around their guitars to parties trying to impress girls before John Belushi rightfully smashes it all over the place.

I got guitar hero. And to my surprise, actual guitar playing skills didn't carry over. So then I started practicing guitar hero... and suddenly came to the realization, WTF am I doing.

I play bass, some guitar, AND Guitar Hero. Am I the exception?

I find it's a fun way to keep my fingers nimble when I don't feel like sitting alone in front of my amp tuning my bass up and down to play along with mp3s. Of course when I can afford another bass I wont have to bother with all that silly tuning so much as I'll just keep one tuned to the drop C the kids are so fond of these days.

Slash has admitted he can not beat any song on Guitar Hero past medium difficulty (in an interview before the Indy 500 this year). Clearly Slash needs to learn to play guitar better.

Have people lost the ability to differentiate between a video game and a real life? Do guitar players truly have so much trouble grasping that some people want to play a game, and not learn to play an instrument?

Besides, playing a game tends to be a great social experience that multiple people can actively participate in without any specialized training or prior experience. Something guitar playing has not yet been able to accomplish (remember, keywords here are "actively participate" and "with no prior experience or training" . . . just to silence the nitpickers).

Just to clarify: I'm not saying anything about Guitar Hero. I just love how shitty this video is and how some people take a goddamn video game so seriously.

Yeah, well. I think most people realize that playing a videogame is almost never like the real thing. I don't really understand this guy's argument.

I tried learning guitar, goddamnit. I really did. Had a tutor and everything. The frets hurt my fingers on a real guitar, and I can't pick one string without hitting all six, so fuck it.

was made to be a video game simmelar to a guitar and your video says ''guitar hero sucks'' shows a bunch of random people with a guitar hero guitar over and over again. the person with the guitar seems happy and the real guitar is just sitting there. get a fucking life dork!
